This course will explain the first steps of assisting individual with disabilities in their employment journey. The presenters will discuss performing an intake and the how the information from the intake will be used to build their portfolio and their resume that will be used during their employment journey. The presenters will go into detail of the job development process spending time touching on resume building, constructing cover letters, assisting with interviews, and including in depth job searches. 

The presenters will show all participants how to structure the job development process based off of client skills, goals and expectations. 


Objectives

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Construct and present their work to potential employers and display the skills that qualify you for a position;
  2. Plan and prepare their clients for an interview. Be able to coach their clients to give the right first impression to potential employers;
  3. Teach clients to Improve their chances of finding a suitable job · Target your job searches and recognize what qualifications employers, in general, are seeking.

About the presenter:

Damar Reed is an Employment Specialist with a B.S in Psychology from Aurora University and has been an Employment specialist for 6 years.
