Understanding how to navigate the written and unwritten complexities of continuing up the career ladder will be discussed in this session. Participants will be exposed to seven specific ideas of how to successfully pursue the next level in a profession and suggestions for developing a career path plan. There will also be a discussion of things to avoid when seeking employment advancement. This webinar is designed to have participants become very comfortable with the dos and don’ts of considering the next career goal and understanding each step of the process and how the steps relate to obtaining job progression.
Objectives
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify a particular skillset(s) and behaviors to actively use when seeking career advancement
- Search for and secure a mentor to help support career advancement goals.
- Secure skills needed to create a career path plan.
About the presenter:
Dr. Lakeiah Cheatham is an educator of 26 years with experience as a general and special education teacher, campus administrator, and EdTech professional learning leader. Continuous improvement of self and looking for opportunities to develop the lives of others using effective research-based teaching/learning practices is the best way to describe her. When she is not cultivating the minds of educators, students, and/or communities; time is well spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
