This presentation will explore how life can change in a blink of an eye and how vocational rehabilitation services, assistive technology, and dedicated support professionals can help a person rebuild, adapt, and continue moving forward with purpose. Through my personal journey from high school to college graduation, employment, unemployment, and my current pursuit of employment services again, I will share how these supports played a meaningful role in my academic success, access to opportunity, independence, confidence, and ability to keep contributing despite living with a spinal cord injury. Most importantly, this presentation will show VR providers, assistive technology professionals, students, and community rehabilitation support specialists that the work they do is more than a service.

About the presenter:
At the tender age of 14, Trenell experienced a life-changing football injury playing varsity football, which resulted in paralysis from the neck down. The sport he loved along with the future he envisioned was taken away. His plan to use his athletic talents to retire his single mom was canceled.
