Mentoring youth ages 14 to 21 (and even beyond) plays a critical role in supporting their transition into adulthood. At this stage, young adults face pivotal changes in education, employment, and personal independence. Effective mentoring can guide them through academic challenges, help them explore and achieve career goals, and foster emotional growth and resilience. Mentors provide practical support—such as networking, resume development, and financial planning—while also serving as trusted role models. Whether navigating college, entering the workforce, or living independently for the first time, young adults benefit greatly from mentors who offer encouragement, guidance, and accountability during this critical period of development.
