The Cultivating an Ethical Workplace Culture webinar explores the essential components of an ethical workplace, with a focus on environments that support intersecting areas of inclusion, dignity, and equity for individuals with disabilities and all. Participants will examine the differences between workplace cultures that promote integrity and those that unintentionally enable harm or exclusion. The training highlights practical strategies for building ethical environments through clear expectations, accessible policies, and consistent procedures. Emphasis is placed on the role of leadership in modeling ethical behavior and supporting disability inclusive practices through ongoing training and transparent decision making. Participants will also explore the importance of psychological safety, accessible communication, and safe reporting options that allow all employees to voice concerns without fear of retaliation. The session encourages participants to reflect on how workplace culture impacts job satisfaction, retention, and alignment with environments that support long term employee well being and success.
Objectives
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify key elements of an ethical workplace culture that support inclusion and equitable treatment all individuals.
- Recognize how organizational policies, procedures, and leadership behaviors influence employee safety, trust, and ethical decision making.
- Describe strategies for promoting accessible communication, respectful reporting processes, and psychological safety in the workplace.
- Support individuals with disabilities in assessing workplace culture and identifying environments that align with their values, strengths, and long term employment goals.
About the presenter:
Dr. Lakeiah Cheatham is an educator of 28 years with experience as a general and special education teacher, campus administrator, and EdTech professional learning leader. Continuous improvement of self and looking for opportunities to develop the lives of others using effective research-based teaching/learning practices is the best way to describe her. When she is not cultivating the minds of educators, students, and/or communities; time is well spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
