The webinar is a detailed guide to help TWC counsellors create ethical business relationships with business owners/management. Similarly, the webinar will demonstrate the equally crucial step in treating Customers respectfully and reinforces a central message that TWC counselors are a critical connection point between Customers and decision makers at companies.
Objectives
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to
- Use current data and simple strategies to show employers how Customers increase profits and brand presence at companies. Participants will be able to effectively describe the economic impact of customers. Similarly, that the business model MUST replace the pity model when building connections with employers.
- Carefully build professional relationships with employers using simple, results oriented strategies for connecting with employers online, in person and via telephone.
- Identify why unethical behavior specifically: Breaking confidentiality, treating Customers disrespectfully and not acting/dressing in a professional manner when meeting with Customers and employers and lastly falsifying timesheets, must never occur.
About the presenter:
Steve McEvoy is a Disability Employment Specialist working to close the disability employment gap with a comprehensive knowledge of the disability experience in the workplace based on 48 years living with cerebral palsy and learning disabilities. Thanks to hearing “no” constantly for employees, Steve founded McEvoy Access Consulting to teach companies and those who serve people with disabilities, how/why hiring people with disabilities is good business. In addition, Steve also guides people with and without disabilities to “you’re hired.” He also writes about subjects related to disability employment on LinkedIn. Since September 2020, Steve’s led 10 webinars for UNT WISE on: Networking/30-Second Pitch, LinkedIn, Dealing with Rejection Proactively, Transition Strategies for College/Highschool Grads with Disabilities, Employment Portfolios. Finally, Steve was a co-presenter at Google’s Accessibility Week 2016. Prior to his work in disability employment Steve was a 7-12 NYC General Ed /Special Ed social studies teacher. Steve received his MA in teaching from Teachers College Columbia University in 2008
