Supported Employment: ACRE Basic Certificate Training (For Providers Outside of TX)
If you are a Texas provider, please be aware that this course will not satisfy the initial credential requirements for TWC. Please visit the Texas Credential Training Calendar.
Acclaimed as a "model for online training" by ACRE reviewers, the Supported Employment: ACRE Basic Certificate training course provides an overview of the principles and practices to assist a person with the most significant disabilities to work. Drawing on a variety of resources created since supported employment emerged, the participant will walk through the supported employment process, from the moment they meet a candidate seeking a job, through the job search, skills training, and integration into the workplace process.
This training is instructor-led and consists of weekly activities/assignments with due dates that reinforce learning with individual feedback to strengthen skill attainment. For a brief overview of the course, please view this PDF.
Group Discount: When registering five or more participants, UNT WISE offers a 10% discount. Please contact UNTWISE at (940) 565-4000 for further information on how to obtain a group discount code.
This course satisfies the basic training requirements for ACRE (Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators) credentialing. The curriculum is based on competencies outlined in APSE's (Association of People Supporting Employment First) domain model.
