This training counts as 1 Ethics  CEU for UNT WISE.

This course is pre-approved for 1 hour of CRCC (Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification) continuing education clock hours if taken between 6/05/24 and  6/05/25!

Most of this webinar will be focused on the ethics behind CIE and ethical principles and practices such as Dignity of Risk, Informed Choice, Self-Determination, Cultural Competency, and  Cultural Humility.

This  module will include content that incorporates the following CRCC Codes of Ethics: 

  • C.1.a. Advocacy: Attitudinal Barriers 
  • C.1.b. Advocacy: Empowerment 
  • C.1.c. Advocacy: Organizational Advocacy 
  • C.1. f Advocacy: Areas of Knowledge and Competency
  • L.1.c Knowledge of Ethical Standards and the Law

Objectives

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the elements of Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE) and the societal significance of CIE
  2. Learn key legislation and advocacy efforts that led to CIE
  3. Introduction to CIE outcomes and best practices

About the presenter:

Britni (Brit) Miles has 13+ years of experience in the field of employment supports for people with disabilities as a Program Architect, Contracted Corporate Consultant, Program Manager, and Direct Support Professional placing and coaching individuals in community jobs out of facility-based environments. Brit facilitates training in best practices of Competitive, Integrated, Employment for Community Rehabilitation Providers, state agencies, and other stakeholders. Brit is a Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) and the Texas Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE) Founding Chapter President.
