Understanding Civic Responsibilities while Transitioning from Youth to Adulthood - CEUs 1.5

  Back to Home

  Back to General

Although there are many ways to be a positive contributor to the country as a U.S. citizen, this webinar concentrates on six types of civic responsibility to explore. Participants will be provided the opportunity to recognize the benefits of: paying taxes, exercising the right to vote, participating in jury duty, registering for selective service, volunteering, and obeying laws. In contrast, the consequences of not participating in required civic duties will be identified. Scenarios are included to engage the participants and further their knowledge of each item. This webinar is a great introduction to understanding civic responsibilities while transitioning from youth to adulthood.

Objectives

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the several different types of civic responsibilities.
  2. Understand examples of duties connected to citizenship.
  3. Determine civic responsibilities that are required at different stages of life.
