Effective communication is the key element to employee retention. Understanding the different types of communication along with how to professionally use those methods with co-workers, managers, and the clients served will lead to a pleasurable experience in the workforce. Participants will be exposed to the most popular types of communication and how it relates to the workplace. Scenarios of how to exemplify professional communication and craft operative interactions will be explored. There will also be a discussion of things to avoid when seeking meaningful communication. This webinar is designed as an introduction to the many facets of acceptable means employees can use to communicate current and future needs in an office setting. 


Objectives

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify four types of communication
  2. Discover things to avoid when pursuing effective communication 
  3. Understand why effective communication is important and must be practiced consistently  

About the presenter:

Dr. Lakeiah Cheatham is an educator of 26 years with experience as a general and special education teacher, campus administrator, and EdTech professional learning leader. Continuous improvement of self and looking for opportunities to develop the lives of others using effective research-based teaching/learning practices is the best way to describe her. When she is not cultivating the minds of educators, students, and/or communities; time is well spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
